REVIEWS & RECOMMENDATIONS
"My daughter started with Karl having joint or "buddy" guitar lessons with her friend on a weekly basis. It was wonderful to watch Grace’s confidence and capabilities grow and I have really enjoyed listening to the songs she learned to play. As well as developing as a guitarist, Grace has learnt about role of the instrument within a band, and about various aspects of performance. Having started with Karl with no experience whatsoever, Grace has now had the confidence to play several times in front of an audience and he has begun to teach her the Bass Guitar, ukulele and encourage her to sing too! Karl strikes just the right balance between making learning fun, and emphasising hard work. He also has an uncanny knack of knowing when someone hasn’t done their practice! I have observed parts of Grace’s lessons when I have collected her from Karl’s studio and have always been very impressed by the rapport he has with the children and adults he teaches; as a teacher myself, I understand the importance of this. I am so happy with Karl as a guitar teacher that last year I asked him to start to teach her younger sister, Martha singing, songwriting and ukulele; this too has been a great success and he's helped her arrange and record a 5 track album of her own songs with her Sister. We warmly recommend Karl as your guitar teacher!"

"Karl joined my music dept at Bourne Community College in 2018. I only wish I'd appointed him earlier! He teaches guitar/bass and ukulele to small, groups, one to one and pairs. He is charismatic and charming with a warm personality and a sense of humour...one which borders the surreal! His music Industry, professional and life experiences are others of his great qualities; invaluable to his interaction with students. I saw an Instant impact/improvement on students engagement with music with his appointment. His Lessons are methodical, conceptual and philosophical covering classic and contemporary repertoires. He is a valued Member of the music dept team. popular and well liked. Absolutely No safeguarding issues."

"Karl takes time to understand how a student learns, adapts his style to suit and is a really good communicator. I always look forward to my weekly lessons and with his guidance, anticipate being able to play my guitar at home soon, without the local dogs howling! "

When I retired I decided to try and learn to play the guitar and I heard about Karl White who lives fairly near me. I asked him if he felt he could teach an old dog some new tricks and he agreed to try. That was some 3 years ago and despite the fact that I don’t practice enough and that I’m probably rather a slow learner it has been a most enjoyable and worthwhile experience. My only regret is that I didn’t start earlier. I find Karl a most engaging character and he has shown considerable patience and tolerance towards his “mature” 77 Year old student. I have a lesson every week and although my limitations are increasingly obvious, Karl is an outstanding teacher. He has shown great commitment and originality and I very much look forward to our regular sessions.

Karl taught my daughter Emily guitar and coached her in songwriting for about 5 years. When she first started she had very little self confidence in her ability, no performance skills and only knew a few chords on the guitar. During her weekly sessions her confidence and ability steadily grew, she soon was encouraged to begin performing in public and was booked for various festivals and events including Armed Services day locally and in Surrey. By the time she left his guitar school (to go to university) she had recorded a CD of her own original songs that he arranged, engineered and produced and has had some of them played on BBC Radio.
Karl was patient with her, always made lessons lots of fun and was able to draw her out, she was very shy and the lessons and his belief in her ability have really helped her. Karl has an excellent manner with young people and encourages them in so many ways. I can thoroughly recommend him as a teacher.
